You have decided: you are ready for a painting in your home. Something that really suits you, something with colour, feeling and character. But then the next question arises: Where do you start? And how much does something like that actually cost?

I am happy to help you with an honest and clear answer.

Where do you buy a painting?
There are several places where you can buy art:

1. Galleries
In a gallery you will often find carefully selected art from one or more artists. I myself have a gallery at Hoogstraat 125 in Vlaardingen, where you can see not only my paintings, but also those of fellow artists. The advantage of a gallery: you see the work in real life and you get personal advice.

2. Art fairs or studio weekends
A fun way to get in touch with the artist himself. You get a look behind the scenes and often hear the story behind the work - which many customers experience as valuable.

3. Online platforms
There are many websites where you can buy art, but pay close attention to whether they are original works or prints, and whether you know who the maker is. Personal contact is often limited, and colours can differ from reality on a screen.

4. From the artist himself
That is of course also possible. More and more people like to buy art directly from the maker. In my case, that means: walking into the gallery without obligation or making an appointment. I will then help you discover what really suits you, your taste and your interior.


How much does a painting cost?
That depends on a few things:

Is it an original or a Fine Art Print?
An original painting is unique and handmade, and usually costs between €900 and €5,000, depending on size, material and processing.
A Fine Art Print (a high-quality reproduction, limited to 10 pieces) is available from €350.

Size and finish
A larger work costs more, as do paintings with special techniques or special materials such as aluminium or 3D structures.
Personal work on commission. Do you want something made that completely matches your wishes? Then you will hear in advance exactly what it costs and what you will get.

What do you get in return?
A well-chosen painting does more than just look beautiful. It adds character, atmosphere and personality to your interior. It makes a house truly yours. Customers often say: "It's finally right."
