Boring walls, lifeless team?

Art in the workplace works!

There are many good reasons to buy art, but it can also be interesting as an investment for several reasons. It inspires employees and relations, it can be fiscally attractive and increase in value (tax-free). What do you look for if you want to invest in it?

Art can yield returns
Initially, you buy a work of art because it appeals to you, it moves you, but how nice is it if it increases in value in the future? For this, it is important that it is an original work of art, has a low circulation and that the artist has (some) fame. Therefore, make sure that it is delivered with a certificate of authenticity that is provided with a signature of the artist and a possible number if it is a circulation.

Tax-friendly
Purchasing art is even tax deductible! As a company, you can write off up to 40% of the purchase value of the purchased work of art, provided it was purchased from the artist or gallery, and the VAT is deductible. As an owner, director or major shareholder, you can buy a work that has been purchased by your company for that 40%. Any increase in value is completely tax-free. This can therefore be very attractive in the long term and yield a lot of money!

Binding with art
In addition to being fiscally attractive, you can also let your staff benefit as a company. If a work of art has been depreciated, you could, for example, offer it to your staff. This has a binding effect and the gesture will certainly be appreciated.

Visitors and customers will be immediately impressed when they see art hanging upon entering. The entrance is your business card. A powerful work of art immediately attracts attention and shows that the company has an eye for detail, quality and appearance. It also often directly leads to a conversation that lowers the threshold.

Everyone has plants, posters or a coffee corner. But original art makes your location unique, you make an impression and that keeps the memory of the visit alive.

Communicating with art
With art, you can radiate as a company what you stand for or show that you are socially involved. Large companies such as ABN AMRO and ING have impressive art collections. They even lend works of art to museums at home and abroad. Many hospitals also have a permanent collection or rent art to put their patients at ease.

Good for creativity
Art is also an important source of inspiration. By looking at art a lot and enjoying it, you stimulate your brain and creativity. It has been proven that looking at art reduces stress and can prevent depression. These reasons also ensure that more and more companies buy original art and hang it on the work floor, which reduces absenteeism due to illness.

Employees will also feel more at ease in an atmospheric environment. Art makes the space personal and human.
