Dyslexia, clay, humor and a head full of ideas

Some artists choose a single discipline. Chantal van Heeswijk probably thought: why would I?

Her amazing work has recently been hanging and standing in my gallery. And believe me: it never gets boring. Chantal is a visual artist, designer, performer, storyteller, and professional contrarian. She works with ceramics, illustrations, language, and anything that sparks her curiosity.

As a self-proclaimed 'language-sensitive dyslexic,' she has a completely unique perspective on words, letters, and communication. Where most people see a mistake, Chantal sees an opportunity. A new story. An unexpected joke. A different perspective.

As if that weren't enough, she opens the doors of her studio during her Art Nights. Don't expect a tame art lecture, but an evening full of stories, humor, creativity, and surprising glimpses into Chantal's mind. You get a look behind the scenes of her work and discover how her dyslexic brain is constantly making new connections.

In short: an evening that will make you look at language, art, and perhaps even yourself differently.

Curious? Come view her work in the gallery.
